Aluminum Flywheel Kit

Reducing the rotating mass of your engine is one of the easiest ways to make it climb through the RPM band more rapidly. Energy usually spent on turning the heavy original steel unit can be directed at the wheels. Our complete kit includes anti-galling plate and new flywheel bolts. Friction surface is steel and easily replaceable. Weight is 8.9 lb.

Clutch Improvements

We sell only quality SACHS clutch components. Heavy duty pressure plates feature increased clamping force for better performance with high horsepower engines, bigger tires, etc. The heavy duty light weight pressure plates feature the same increase in clamping force but the center plate, normally cast iron, is replaced with lightweight aluminum for even better performance. Heavy duty Sport discs feature a performance grade friction surface which is both riveted and bonded for greater strength.

Transmissions

Korman Rebuilt Transmissions

2 year/24,000 mile warranty

We disassemble, clean and inspect each transmission before rebuilding. Standard rebuild parts include bearings, synchronizers, gaskets and seals. We rebuild to BMW factory specifications for pre-load, clearances, torque figures, etc. Built on your core, exchange units available on request.

5 Speed Overdrive Conversion-320i 77-79

This complete kit allows you to install a later model five speed overdrive transmission in your early 4 speed car. Kit includes gearbox, shift linkage and supports, etc. Also included is the cost of shortening and rebalancing your driveshaft.

Close Ratio Gear Boxes

Designed for performance, these factory units feature a 1:1 fifth gear (same as 4th in a 5 speed overdrive transmission). May require differential gear change for maximum performance. Call with your application.

Differentials

Stock Differential Rebuild-2 year/24,000 mile warranty

Each unit is disassembled, cleaned and inspected before rebuilding. All bearings, seals and gaskets are replaced, unit is then assembled to factory specifications. Factory limited slip units rebuilt at additional cost. Gear sets may be changed at the time of rebuild for a minimal additional fee.

Quaife Automatic Torque-Biasing Limited Slip Units

Already used in Formula 1, IMSA, SCCA and Pro Rally applications, Quaife Automatic Torque Biasing Limited Slip Units are now available for your BMW. Quaife units utilize a gear driven mechanical process to direct power at an infinitely variable rate (as opposed to a fixed 25%, 40% or 75% rate) to the wheel with the most traction. Unlike the more complicated and fragile Torsen design and the BMW OEM clutch pack limited slip units which tend to transfer power abruptly, the Quaife units are simple and rugged in design and provide a very smooth power transfer between the two driven wheels. Quaife units have proven to make as much a one second per mile difference in lap times on road courses. We can provide you with the unit for your own installation, or install it here in our facility. (These units are sold on an outright basis making them an ideal option for cars which did not come equipped with a limited slip differential from the factory)

Alpina Competition Differential Cover

Massively finned aluminum cover with enlarged sump. Includes secondary mount (welding required) for handling high horsepower input. Fits all E21.

Korman Differential Cover

We weld a drilled heat sink to a factory aluminum finned differential cover. Not as elaborate as the Alpina unit, but very effective in keeping things cool. Fits all E21.
