Korman Stage 1 Rebuild-CIS M10

The early (77-79) 320i engine responds dramatically to Stage 1 tuning, with up to 135 HP from 110 HP stock. We also include our performance distributor to replace the original.

The 80> 320i models come with a 1.8 liter engine. Our Stage 1 performance rebuild on these models includes a 2.0 liter conversions. Special fuel injection tuning is required and included. We reuse the original electronic ignition system but include a special Korman-Stahl header. Torque gains are substantial, and combined with the 3.91 gearing of the 1.8 liter cars provides that acceleration "punch" lacking in the original.

After a careful building to stage one specifications, we add lightweight rocker arms, titanium valve spring retainers, dual valve springs, lightweight connecting rods, lightweight wrist pins, and our aluminum flywheel kit. The result is a powerful, smooth engine that loves to rev!

Korman Stage 2 2.0 liter Competition Engine

Our hot autocross/rally engine. Many BMW enthusiasts use this engine for regular street driving since it is surprisingly tractable and well behaved in city traffic. But it is a light competition engine and built for power. Don't expect 150,000 miles at 7500RPM, but it is designed to operate at that engine speed. This 170 HP engine includes the Schrick 316 cam, two twin 45 DCOE Webers, lightweight connecting rods, high compression pistons, titanium valve spring retainers, racing headers, etc. Blueprinted to competition specifications.

This engine utilizes a special knife edged crankshaft, lightweight connecting rods, custom pistons, Schrick 316 cam, dual Weber 45 DCOE's, etc. Produces 200 horsepower in this configuration (others available). Don't forget bigger brakes!

Includes our proven standard rebuild techniques to ensure trouble free operation and maximum durability. We perform four critical tests on the bare cylinder head to make sure the original is reusable. Valve guides and exhaust valves are replaced. We clean and test the CIS injection components (323i) and inspect the carburetor for wear damage (320/6). Ignition components (cap, rotor, wires) also included. Holley 4 BBL carb conversion available for 320/6 at additional cost.

Our Stage 1 rebuild will provide a moderate increase in power through the use of our proven performance techniques. Special valve and valve seat work, a moderate increase in compression, and cylinder head porting and matching will net a gain of 12-25 HP, depending on model.

Includes Schrick 304 cam, high compression pistons, Korman Rocker Arms, Dual Valve Springs, titanium retainers, lightened connecting rods. Fully ported and polished cylinder head, three angle valve job, triple weber 40 DCOE's, etc. Produces 150 HP (2.0L), 170 HP (2.3L), revs safely to 7200 RPM. Limited availability due to triple Weber intake.

Stage 2 2.7 Liter Conversion
Our most popular small six engines. Special crankshaft allows reliable revs to 7500RPM. It is impossible to list all the configurations here, so call and let us work up a package and price that fits your needs. Example: 2.7L, big valves, Schrick 304 cam, etc. 230 HP, 210 lbs/ft torque.
