On display
Beginning in 1975, BMW commissioned major internationally known artists to apply their talents to create a series of "art" cars. This collection painted by Andy Warhol, Frank Stella, Roy Lichtenstein, Ken Done, and others, has become world famous. In 1991 five of these cars were displayed at the South Eastern Center for Contemporary Art in Winston-Salem (NC) as part of a world wide tour. In only one instance has one of the BMW art car artists produced another masterpiece for a private individual. American racer Peter Gregg had driven Frank Stella's BMW 3.0 CSL creation at LeMans and Dijon, France and in 1979 Stella designed a stunning BMW M1 art car for Gregg. The current owner has entrusted this rare and valuable work of art to Korman Autoworks for rebuilding. You are cordially invited to view this masterpiece while it is on display in our showroom.
Why choose Korman Autoworks to service your BMW?
Ten Good Reasons:
1. You pay only for the actual time our technicians work on your car
You are probably well aware that there have been major changes in automobiles. Fuel injection has replaced carburetors, ABS,brakes, traction control, air bags, computer controlled engines, transmissions and now electronic steering and suspension systems are here. Some models have more than half a dozen computers on board. Mechanics are now called technicians for they may spend as much time working with computers to diagnose and repair your car as they do with wrenches. We have made a substantial and on-going investment in new computerized test equipment and Bosch Factory Training for our technicians and manager to enhance our capability to maintain and repair your "high tech" automobile.
2. We only do the work you authorize
In the course of working on your vehicle, we will inform you of any additional problems noted by our technicians. We will not, however, undertake any additional work without your consent.
3. Plain talk
We won't try to impress you with too many technical terms that leave you wondering what you just paid for. We want you to leave knowing not only what the part or service is, but its function and importance. Don't understand something? Please ask. We'll be more than happy to explain or even demonstrate.
4. Best parts pricing and availability
Korman Autoworks is one of the major BMW mail order parts warehouses in the U.S. Our large volume purchases, direct importing from Germany, and computer controlled inventory enable us to offer only top quality parts at very competitive prices. We sell wholesale to over 400 shops and parts stores throughout the U.S. Our Service Department enjoys direct in house access to this large inventory, so you enjoy less waiting for parts time on your service or repair job.
5. Understandable, itemized invoices
We want you to be able to read and understand your invoice. Our computer generated invoices are detailed, including part numbers, exact quantities, descriptions, and prices. Labor charges are broken into individual operations, showing you the exact amount of time each required.
6. Maintain your factory warranty
All work performed at Korman Autoworks meets or exceeds BMW requirements for maintaining your factory warranty.
7. Bosch Authorized Service Centers
There are now about 500 Bosch Authorized Service Centers throughout the U.S. All can provide the same warranty service. For instance, if we have intalled a Bosch Remanufactured alternator for you here in Greensboro and it fails on a cross country trip, you can get a warranty replacement, both parts and labor, from Anchorage Alaska to Miami, Florida. Next time you're in our shop, ask for our free directory of Bosch Authorized Service centers for the U.S. and Canada.
8. Bosch Warranty Service
All Bosch parts installed at Korman Autoworks are covered both parts and labor for two years or 24,000 miles. Korman can also cover all warranty parts and labor on Bosch parts on your new or late model BMW for 24 months or 24,000 miles.
9. Extra Warranty Protection
If any Bosch alternator or starter fails within 24 months of installation, Bosch will provide a free jump start or a free tow from a qualified road service provider.
10. We get the job done right!
Why do BMW owners send their cars to us from all over the continental U.S., Canada, and South America? For our expertise in diagnosing problems and repairing them properly! We take car of your car in our shop so you don't have problems on the road.
Why we race
Racing at Korman Autoworks is not our primary activity, nor is it a mere hobby. Our main business is in providing excellent parts, accessories, service, and rebuilding capabilities for street driven BMW's. Our racing activities profoundly improve our capability for providing for your BMW.
Racing develops our technical experience for quickly recognizing and diagnosing problems and for honing the skills required to make quick yet lasting repairs. The challenge of competition carries over into our everyday work. On the track, we strive to get the most out of our entry; on the road, we want to make your car a winner for you.
Our racing heritage enables us to attract highly motivated, dedicated technicians. The technician working on your car may be the same that prepared our BMW entries that twice won the 24 hours of Watkins Glen and the IMSA Endurance Championship. A BMW 328 prepared for a customer by Korman Autoworks won the Motorola Cup Endurance Championship in 2000. Whether you drive on the track or the highway, we prepare and maintain your car for long term satisfaction.
